CHERISH YOUR PET FOREVER

Custom Pet Portraits

It’s no secret our pets quickly become a member of the family. They get priority seating on the couch for the Netflix marathons and have a pawfect playlist of music to keep them company while you are away at work. So, it is only natural to immortalize them with a hand-crafted pet portrait painting!

A custom pet portrait painting of yours, or a loved one’s, fur baby quickly becomes the most coveted family heirloom or an exceptional gift for the pet lover in your life. Every detail is painted with meticulous attention capturing the pet’s personality and essence in a contemporary headshot style.

For your Custom Carma Creation, we want to bring your vision of your beloved pet to life. From background colors and style, to custom modifications, we work with you to align the creative vision of your personalized painting.

All our Creature Creations are made-to-order and hand-painted. We ensure each and every single portrait captures your pet’s personality, and reflects the passion and skill we spent years developing and perfecting.

We welcome all pets: dogs, cats, birds, horses, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, and even rocks.

Pet Portrait Image Guidelines

Photo Guidelines v2.png

The most important part of your custom pet painting is the quality of the images you submit. The more individual hairs I can see, the more detail I can deliver!

Luckily, you don’t need to be a professional photographer to take great photos of your pet. Grab your smartphone and follow these tips and tricks to capture quality reference photos for your pet painting:

  • Position yourself to be eye-level with your pet. Don’t use the zoom function, instead, get closer to your pet.

  • A well-lit setting with natural light helps with color, quality, and focus.

  • The best poses are when your pet is sitting or standing. Bust shots (head + chest) make excellent pet portraits.

  • Use trigger words, a toy, or treats for alert eyes and ears.

  • Focus on the eyes, as they capture the personality the best.

  • No blurry photos. The more individual hairs I can see, the more detail I can deliver!

Check out our complete Pet Portrait Image Guidelines for more detail.

Not sure whether your images will work?

If you are unsure of the quality of your reference photos, email your images to info@carmavisions.com . I often paint portraits of pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, so I understand it’s not always possible to follow the guidelines above.

Pet Paintings for a Purpose

There are some things in this life that are so pure, so wonderful, so predictable, they fill your heart without even trying. Whether it’s the rising and falling of the sun every day, the clockwork nature of the Universe, or the unconditional love from a pet, there’s plenty out there that make you say “yes” to life.

Animals demonstrate an innocence that we feel compelled to protect. Our increased empathy for dogs or cats, reptiles or rodents, has nothing to do with a preference for a certain species, and everything to do with our innate desire to protect and nurture those who are innocent and helpless.

To show how art can make a tangible difference, 5% of each Pet Portrait Commissioned by Carma Visions will be donated to Best Friends Animal Society.

Best Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for homeless animals and is focused on stopping the killing of nearly 4 million pets in shelters all across America.

Best Friends is leading the no-kill movement by running lifesaving community programs for dogs and cats, providing support and training for animal shelters and rescue groups, and mobilizing community members on behalf of pets in need across the country.

Their goal? To reduce the number of animals killed in shelters each year, and eventually, to Save Them All.
